Serves them right. They gave J&amp;K, a terrorist infested state with the biggest separatist movement in the country, statehood but refuse to give that to Ladakh despite promising them to do so. Ladakhis are extremely pro India and the government is going out of their way to alienate them.

Also before someone comes and says that violence is not the answer, understand that they have been protesting peacefully for years only for their demands to be ignored. At some point, their patience will run out. They are simply asking from the government what was promised to them when Article 370 was abrogated.

I won't shy away from saying BJP has dropped a ball on not delivering the promise or containing the situation. 

However, will this violence achieve the objective? This is something people of Leh &amp; Ladakh need to think about. If they are resorting to violence to achieve political objectives then be prepared to become slaves in the long term. As people of the region, you should be intelligent enough to see what you stand to gain from violence like this. Do you want Congress to come back in power which ignored you for more than 60 years? Someone might now say BJP is also ignoring L&amp;L, but that's a question people need to answer. If they really think that's the case then pls continue with violence. Also, for those who are saying L&amp;L have largely been pro India and this might trigger anti India sentiment. Theek hai bhai! woh bhi try karke dekh lo. But history hasn't been kind to those people. Kashmir has been a shining example of it. You can always choose to side with another country, we will see how those people are gonna treat you and address your concerns.

So , I am trying to understand here. What is your point? This is what I got from your post - You want people in HP to be careful because of what is happening in Ladakh. You don't want outsiders to be able to buy land in HP and you fear that an influx of people from outside might lead to people inside having less jobs. It's hard for ladakh to get these demands. 
1) it's a sensitive area so the central government would like to have direct rules for easy operations.
2) Granting statehood for such a less populated area without any major revenue generation industry will be hard.
3) With respect to culture I can't comment much i don't really know much about it.

They have been peacefully protesting since last year and how did our news channels cover it? I'm sure more than half of India didn't even know what the protests were about until today. Sonam Wangchuk has been the face of peaceful protests and hunger strikes since then, and their demands have been mostly ignored (when it was promised by the BJP in their election manifesto itself). News channels have reported that 3-5 people have been killed in police firing. Is this how we should treat our own citizens?

I hope things settle down and center and the local bodies reach a mutual agreement, we do not want to see another unrest in a bordering state. The current turn of events have been extremely unfortunate, and I hope, this will at least draw our fellow countrymen’s attention to an issue that has long been ignored.

In india if your population  is low or you are not violent  your community  will not get anything  this is hard truth , uttarakhand people  demanded statehood from time of independence  but due to peaceful protest and less population  it got ignored  until 2000 after many rapes and muder by uttarpradesh people  and government. I think ladakhi people  knew that they can fill population  gap so they have to take other route. I think other himalayan  states should take inspiration  from this. You cant get  your demands by peaceful protest in india , desi people  will always have population  advantage  over pahadi people

What a deadbeat propaganda post. The people were not killed in police firing. They were unfortunately killed when the protestors turned violent and set vehicles on fire, the same violence that Congress workers on ground helped stoke and spread. The violence was preplanned by Congress and it's foreign allies (considering Congress is a treaty ally of Chinese Communist Party). There are literally photos and videos of the same but here the Congie IT cell is trying to paint this as police or Government's fault

Definitely it is not the Leh people but it is the broader game plan of deep state which they ventured around India it's evident ! The Army involved cunningly with a definite motive and in bracket writing BRO. Being from Army , we did wonders for the sake of our Laddaki people. BRO which toils day and night for the Laddaki peple. I got struck once in heavy snowfall at Changla pass alongwith locals  and I know how BRO toiled to clear Changla pass by employing snow dozers and with manual efforts.
